The company is embedding RIFD into loyalty cards. When customers enter the store, their card is scanned by a reader.

1. Is Circuit City's RIFD technology too intrusive?Would you feel comfortable shopping with it? Why or why not?

Yes, RIFD technology is intrusive. No, customers would not be comfortable with RFID technology as company is embedding RFID into loyalty cards, when customers enter the store, their card is scanned by a reader. A coupon dispenser at the door then dispenses specific coupons based on their past buying habits. Going further, when customer's card is read, the store automatically knows that he or she was on the Circuit City web yesterday, evaluating plasma TVs. Now this was being implemented in a country like United States where citizens who are the majority of customers will not much be satisfied with their privacies intruded.
So the business cannot be implement the strategy of customers satisfaction.

2. In what other ways could circuit city use wireless technology to improve their customer's shopping experience?

The Circuit City can instead apply wireless technology in order to get right items required by its customer, I think instead of interferring into customer's privacy while shopping, Circuit City can better use the information about what their customers need and use it in dealing with products kept in the store.
For example, the can categorize their customers and make a virtual image of customers based on their previous vists and oftentimes purchased items and arrange the items in the store accordingly.
In order to compete with Best Buy and Wall-Mart, Circuit City can satisfy customers using the product management in store and making proper accounting about time period and quality of products.
